Mr. McDonald is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Accounting. Upon graduation, Doug worked at a national CPA firm and in 1989 joined a public accounting practice in Hopkins, Minnesota. On November 1, 2010 he and his partners merged their accounting practice into Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP.
Doug works with business and individual clients in manufacturing, wholesaling, professional services, insurance agencies, individual tax and many other types of businesses. Specialties include small business accounting and tax, business start-up, business purchases and sales, business valuation, litigation support, and multi-state income taxes.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accounts.
Doug has many interests: he is a licensed pilot and enjoys many sports, with inline skating and hockey as the most recent additions. He enjoys many outdoor activities: cross country skiing, fishing and canoeing. One of his most enjoyable diversions is taking canoe trips through the Boundary Waters, Northwestern Ontario and other parts of Canada.
