The foundation of modern-day Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP was established back in 1963 when Joe Abdo partnered with his college accounting instructor, Bill Montag, to form Montag & Abdo accounting firm in Mankato, Minnesota. Just two years later, with financial assistance from his mother Fadwa, Joe established his own company, JM Abdo Company which grew slowly but steadily with each passing year.

In 1973, Joe's son Jay and his college friend Gerry Eick joined the company and were instrumental in extending the reach of services to clients at offices in Owatonna and later in Bloomington. While Jay managed the Owatonna office, Gerry took on the responsibility for the governmental auditing services that Joe had initiated in the late 60s. Under their leadership, the firm became one of the leading governmental audit service providers in the state of Minnesota. The firm became Abdo, Abdo & Eick in 1984 and continued to grow in size and capabilities over the ensuing decade.

Joe Abdo retired in 1996 and the company became Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP and, since that time, has expanded its menu of services to include, payroll, employee benefits, business valuations, and forensic accounting to augment the already well established business accounting and governmental auditing services. The firm has experienced exponential growth throughout the past ten years to assist our client's in solving their challenges and increase the value of their business.

Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP has completed acquisitions and mergers within the last four years to better serve the needs of our clients and the markets we serve. In 2007, the firm acquired Mathwig & Whipps, PA and merged with Landgraff, Gates and Tomm LTD. In 2009, AEM Financial Solutions LLC was established as a subsidiary of AEM to provide day to day financial services to governmental entities throughout Minnesota. Most recently, Abdo, Eick & Meyers LLP merged with Jelinek Metz McDonald LTD in 2010.

Today, Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP has grown into a top 20 firm in the state of Minnesota. The firm employs a staff of more than 100 dedicated professionals who provide an increasingly broader array of accounting and financial services to over 5,900 clients in private business and governmental entities throughout the state of Minnesota. Our governmental practice has increased from a single client in 1969 to more than 150 entities today and provides auditing services to more cities than any other accounting firm in Minnesota. Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP maintains offices in Mankato, Apple Valley and Edina to serve its growing clientele.
